Spanglish is Northern Michigans first and only Certified Green Restaurant. All of our take out containers, utensils and cups are reusable, compostable or recyclable. We have never used styrofoam, ever. All of our food waste is composted and we recycle plastic, glass and paper. Almost all of our equipment including ventilation is repurposed. Even the building which was built in 1892 is repurposed. It was originally the fire house and then the vegetable peeling building for the former State Hospital. We use local food and products when ever available . Our commitment to making Spanglish as sustainable as possible has been steady from the beginning and will carry us into the future.
